KLC Cares, Inc.

KLC Cares, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening public safety by expanding access to high-quality law enforcement and security training. We believe that every department—regardless of size, location, or budget—deserves the ability to provide their officers with advanced instruction and modern technical capabilities.

Through donor support and law enforcement–related grant funding, KLC Cares provides training-access grants to qualifying agencies so they can participate in professional development programs offered by KLC Security Training Academy,  receive specialized services from KLC Security Concepts, and directly apply for assistance obtaining equipment. Our goal is simple: empower agencies with the tools, knowledge, and skills needed to enhance officer readiness, improve community safety, and reduce risk.

What We Fund

KLC Cares supports training and services that ensure officers receive best-in-class instruction, including:

  • Tactical training (firearms, CQB, active threat response, room clearing, low-light/no-light)
  • De-escalation, crisis intervention, and communication skills
  • Surveillance & counter-surveillance workshops
  • Behavioral analysis, investigative techniques, and interview/interrogation
  • Technical Security Countermeasures (TSCM) services
  • Scenario-based training and force-on-force programs
  • Specialty courses delivered by KLC Security Training Academy instructors

KLC Cares ensures that agencies can access these services even when their budgets do not allow for it.

Why It Matters

Many departments—especially smaller, rural, or underfunded agencies—cannot afford the advanced training that larger agencies routinely receive. This gap affects officer preparedness, community trust, and overall safety.

KLC Cares was created to close that gap.

By providing grant support, we ensure that officers can return to their communities with:

  • Enhanced tactical and operational competence
  • Improved decision-making under stress
  • Stronger communication and de-escalation skills
  • Better understanding of modern threats
  • Tools to keep themselves and their citizens safer

How It Works

  1. Agencies submit a Grant Request Form through our website.
  2. KLC Cares reviews each submission for need, mission alignment, and impact potential.
  3. Approved agencies receive partial or full funding to attend courses from KLC Security Training Academy or obtain services through KLC Security Concepts.
  4. Award notifications are issued directly to the requesting agency.


Grants may be awarded on a rolling basis or within scheduled funding cycles depending on availability.
